About This Station
Welcome to Halling Weather, an amateur weather station situated in the Medway Valley Kent (UK)
Featured on "The Clive Bull Show" LBC 97.3 FM
Halling is a large village in the Medway Valley in an area know as "The Medway Gap" . The River Medway flows North from here until it reaches the Thames Estuary about 15 miles away. The Gap is referring to a cutting through the North Downs, which are a chain of chalk hills that rise to around 400ft on either side. This so called "gap" can produce some of it's own local weather conditions, sometimes windier than surrounding areas and sometimes cooler on those winter nights. Summer days can sometimes feel hotter than in surrounding villages sited on the slopes of the North Downs. Find out just how windy, cool, warm etc here at Halling Weather!

Techno Babble:
The station is headed by a Davis Vantage Pro 2 Weather Station which uploads data directly to a PC. This data is then processed by software called "Weather Display" which is then stored and analysed. Every 5 seconds the software via ajax scripts upload and update this information to this website and even when the PC is off (or maintenance is carried out) the PC logs all the missed data then updates and uploads it to the site. "Weather Live" is real-time up to the minute data refreshed every few seconds.
